Intro

Royal Vegas has enjoyed over two decades in the industry, and is one of Microgaming’s oldest partners.

The site offers a range of excellent casino titles, mainly – but not exclusively – from Microgaming and its software partners.

New customers are treated to a higher-than-average welcome bonus, and customer service options and banking methods are pleasingly varied.

Read on to find out everything you need to know about this Digimedia site and, if you fancy it, click through to sign up and claim your optional welcome bonus.

WAGERING REQUIREMENTS

Some online casino sites will claim they have a 35x wagering requirement but attach that to both the deposit and the bonus, making it essentially a 70x requirement.

However, being transparent about your wagering requirement doesn’t earn forgiveness for how high it is. We have to be honest and say that the requirement is extremely steep here.

That 70x requirement runs through all of the sporadic promotions that Royal Vegas offers. This includes free spins bonuses, where any winnings you land with them are subject to the strict wagering requirement. For example, if you won €10 with your free spins, you would need to wager €700 before you could withdraw your winnings.

Not all games contribute to the wagering requirements in the same way. While most slots provide 100% of bets towards wagering, NetEnt slots only give 50%. Meanwhile, most table games only give 8%, with video poker and classic blackjack contributing just 2%. Baccarat, craps, and progressive jackpot games don’t contribute at all.

Royal Vegas offers an attractive welcome bonus that totals €1,200 across a player’s first four deposits. The bonus is evenly broken up, with all four deposits receiving a 100% matched deposit bonus of up to €300.

This is a solid bonus by anyone’s standards but it’s a little let down by the site’s terms and conditions.

There is a 70x wagering requirement attached to the welcome bonus, which is twice the industry standard, and more than a little disappointing.

Basically, this means that – outside of the very highest rollers – players are very unlikely to unlock withdrawals on any bonus-associated winnings. With that in mind, the bonus is best viewed as a way to get to grips with the site and its games on the house.

Software

We like to see a wide range of software developers providing the games at an online casino, but, unfortunately, Royal Vegas Casino falls a little short here.

While there is a variety of games, many of these are from the likes of Fortune Factory, Just For The Win (JFTW), and Switch Studios, which are partners of main provider Microgaming.

When you look for developers with no attachment to Microgaming, you will only find Evolution Gaming, NetEnt, and Red Tiger Gaming. These are all excellent studios, and 700+ total games is a decent enough number, but many of the best online casinos offer more variety.

Slots

8/10

The slots selection makes up most of the 700+ casino titles available at Royal Vegas.

Most of the slots come from Microgaming and NetEnt, with classics like Immortal Romance and Gonzo’s Quest just a click away.

You’ll also find a few slots from Microgaming partners like JFTW, but the selection is lacking the likes of Playtech and Yggdrasil among many others.
It is also worth mentioning an odd design choice that Royal Vegas takes here, along with other sites on the same network.

While the majority of online casinos display all the available games to give you a sense of what to expect, clicking the ‘More Games’ option under the initial display of 10 or more games will take you straight to a sign-up screen. It’s impossible to know what games, and how many, are on offer until registering, something that is likely to put off more players than it entices.

Live Casino

7/10

As with the slots, most of the live casino games available at Royal Vegas are hidden behind a registration wall, meaning you’re limited to seeing just the handful displayed on the Live Casino tab before signing up.

Luckily, you have us to fill in the gaps. What you get at Royal Vegas is a decent array of Evolution Gaming live dealer games.

While only using one developer for a game category is always a negative to a degree, if you’re only going to use one for live dealers, Evolution is positively the right choice.

You can expect numerous variations of blackjack, roulette, and baccarat here, varying in both pot limits and languages, as well as craps, Sic Bo, and other popular table games.

There are also some of Evolution’s hugely popular game show style titles like Crazy Time and Dreamcatcher.

All Evolution games are streamed from the developer’s sleek, classy, and state-of-the-art studios around the world. Tables are staffed by professional, highly trained hosts and croupiers, giving as close to that true to life experience as you can get from the comfort of your own home.

Blackjack

7/10

While the most interesting and varied blackjack options fall under the live dealer category, there are a few exciting RNG blackjack games to choose from, too. These include Switch Studios’ excellent Vegas Downtown Blackjack as well as Microgaming’s Gold Series Classic Blackjack.

There could certainly be more games added here, but the few available options are of a high standard.

Roulette

For RNG-based roulette options, Microgaming runs the show here, with our personal favourites being the high-energy Multifire Roulette and the smooth and elegant Sapphire Roulette. There’s also real Auto Roulette, a live, yet automatic game without a croupier.

Poker

Microgaming has a solid selection of video poker games, and most of these titles are on offer at Royal Vegas.

Titles in this high RTP game category include Jacks or Better, Bonus Deuces Wild, Double Bonus, Aces and Eights, and more.

Cashier

9/10

As with most things at the Royal Vegas site, the time a withdrawal takes is something the casino keeps pretty close to its chest.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that withdrawals are usually processed and released within 48 hours, but there are reports of withdrawals taking several days in some cases.

One thing we do know is that Royal Vegas has a very high withdrawal minimum of €50, which is considerably higher than the average of €10-€20 at most sites. If we’re honest, even €20 is a high minimum.

Deposit limits are high too, although these are set at a slightly more acceptable €20. There are, at least, a few different ways to make your deposit, with e-wallets, debit cards, and prepaid cards available.

Paysafecard is among a few options that are deposit-only, but most of the ways to pay in can also be used to withdraw funds.

Method Min deposit Minimum Withdrawal Limit Withdrawal Processing Time
Debit Card €20 €50 3-5 Working Days
EcoPayz €20 N/A N/A
instaDebit €20 €50 1-7 Working Days
Neteller €20 €50 1-2 Working Days

Design & Usabillity

Many unusual design choices have been made at Royal Vegas. While the site itself looks nice enough, with a simple, regal logo and a minimalist red and white colour scheme, there are layout choices that take a bit of getting used to.

For example, every time you visit a new section of the site, you must scroll past the same 10 games before getting to the information required, leading some to assume they’ve been returned to the homepage.

Much of the site’s content is also hidden until you’ve signed up, and presumably this is to encourage people browsing for a new site to sign up regardless of whether they plan to play there.

With most casino sites focusing on easy usability and friendly interfaces, Royal Vegas falls short of the industry standard.

Support Options

Royal Vegas has numerous available customer support options, which is something we love to see from an online casino.

There‘s no phone number, but you can contact the site by email, live chat on the website, or even by Skype if you prefer.

Mobile Experience

8/10

While Royal Vegas may feel a step behind the times in some ways, the mobile casino offering is very forward-thinking.

This online casino site has an excellent mobile app for both Android and iOS devices.

Additionally, those looking to save storage space on their smartphone or tablet can simply visit the casino from their web browser. The site has, admittedly, the same design flaws as the desktop site, but if you’re looking for a mobile casino that stays true to the design and content of the desktop version, that certainly happens here!

App Review

The mobile app from Royal Vegas is a cut above the desktop site in terms of design. The user interface is easy to navigate here, with drop-down menus and touchscreen controls removing many of the flaws of the browser version.

Most of the games available at Royal Vegas can be accessed from the mobile app, with the benefit of it being right there on your device to speed up access.

You’ll also get regular push notifications – if you turn them on – informing you of newly added games and fresh promotions.

Loyalty and VIP Rewards

As soon as you make your first deposit at Royal Vegas you will immediately join the site’s loyalty program, with 2,500 points added straight to your balance to get you started.

From there, the aim is to climb up the rankings, collecting ever-improving bonuses and perks as you do.

The threshold for reaching the next level rises each time, but the speed at which you convert bets into points reduces, so it is possible to climb high here, if you’re a high roller, at least.

High rollers, in fact, may even find themselves invited to the exclusive Prive level. This is an invite-only level that is only offered to the biggest of big spenders.

Those who find themselves lucky enough to get the call can benefit from a dedicated account manager, personalised bonuses, and invitations to exclusive Royal Vegas events.

Summary

7.3/10

There are some things that Royal Vegas does very well. The mobile app, for example, is excellent, and the live casino is competitive thanks to the wide selection of Evolution Gaming titles. We’re also impressed by the loyalty programme.

However, a few things let this online casino down. For starters, the games selection is quite small, as is the number of developers that provide them. The site has also decided to hide most of these games from players who have not yet registered.

The high withdrawal minimum and extremely high wagering requirements aren’t too player-friendly, either.

All in all, Royal Vegas is a solid casino but there are definitely areas that could be improved. If you’re a fan of Microgaming, this is a great choice.
